Gravis, a boutique asset manager with expertise in infrastructure, property, and private credit, is proud to announce its membership in the Academy of Real Assets (ARA), a charitable organisation dedicated to enhancing access and awareness of the real assets industry among youth organisations and disadvantaged school pupils.

The ARA stands at the forefront of promoting access, diversity, and intellectual curiosity among UK schools and students. By connecting them with some of the country’s leading real estate and real assets firms, the Academy provides invaluable opportunities through events and work experience programmes. With over 60 leading real estate and real assets organisations as members, the Academy leverages their collective expertise to inspire and educate the next generation.

Through partnerships with schools, youth organisations, and philanthropic groups, the Academy delivers a comprehensive programme of workshops, site visits, and work experience opportunities. These initiatives are designed to increase socio-economic diversity in the real estate and real assets industries, ensuring that young people from all backgrounds can envision and pursue careers in these fields.

Anthony Curl, CIO and Chair of the Responsible Investment Committee at Gravis said: “We are delighted to have become members of the Academy of Real Assets. Gravis is looking forward to participating in engagement events like school talks to help increase long-term socio-economic diversity in our sector. This type of outreach complements other initiatives we are proud to promote such as the Young Women into Finance (YWIF) and 10,000 Black Interns.”

Ian Gaunt, Associate Director at Gravis said: “Last week I was invited to join five other representatives from local businesses to an initiative jointly organised by the Academy of Real Assets and the host, the Charter School at North Dulwich. The event had us introduce ourselves to a class of around twenty Year 12 students, all keen to better understand pathways into Business. We provided practical guidance on their style and content of CVs, and critically appraised their interview technique following a series of mock job interview questions. The result was an enjoyable, interesting and worthwhile experience for all. It was a joy to be in the presence of such a diverse and interested cohort of students and I personally left the day with a renewed faith in the abilities of our next generation.”
