Each year, the staff at Gravis pick charity partners they’d like the company to support. Employees then get involved with volunteering and fundraising initiatives, to raise both money and awareness, and provide hands-on help.

In 2024, Gravis donated over £50,000 to charity and got involved with Trees for Cities, the CASCAID Olympics, Surry Docks Farm, Guide Dogs, Street Child, Little Village, The Academy for Real Assets and Joshy’s Heart of Gold.

Here’s a taster of some the activities we participated in:

Trees for Cities

In January and November teams of Gravis employees spent a day volunteering at Horsenden Hill and Ashburton Playing Fields in South London with Trees for Cities. Trees for Cities is the only UK charity working on both a national and international scale to improve lives by planting trees in cities. The teams braved snow and wind and planted more than 250 saplings in in total!

CASCAID Olympics

A Gravis team of six took part in the CASCAID Olympics at the Battersea Park Millennium Sports Arena in May, in aid of The Rainbow Trust. They came 3rd overall, and won the 4 x 100m relay!

Surrey Docks Farm

In August, five employees and two of our interns spent the day volunteering at Surrey Docks Farm in South East London. Surrey Docks Farm is a working city farm and charity that brings the community together to learn about farming, food production, and the natural environment. The team helped clear out and tidy pens for the sheep and goats in the morning and filled in raised beds in the afternoon.

Guide Dogs

September was an exciting month: two dogs from our charity partner, Guide Dogs, the world's largest assistance dog organisation, visited the Gravis offices. For over 90 years, Guide Dogs has been transforming lives with their incredible range of services, to support people living with vision impairment. We found out more about the work the charity does and the puppy we have sponsored called – you guessed it – Gravis! How cute is he?

Street Child

Gwynfor Jones, our Office and ESG Coordinator, competed in the Berlin Marathon in September, in support of our charity partner, Street Child. Street Child works to ensure access to education for marginalised children in over 22 countries, empowering them to learn and stay safe in school.

Little Village

Four runners from Gravis also took part in the Royal Parks Half Marathon in October, to raise money for Little Village. Little Village provides pre-loved clothes, toys, and essential baby items to families in need, championing the circular economy by repurposing items that might otherwise end up at a landfill. Gravis staff also volunteered at the Little Village depot.

Joshy’s Heart of Gold

Gravis also announced a new Charity Partner - Joshy’s Heart Of Gold Charity. Founded by Victoria Battman, this charity provides crucial support to families who have lost a child or have a child seriously injured in an accident. The charity offers counselling, financial assistance for hospital stays, and logistical help to ensure no family faces their grief alone.

The Academy of Real Assets

Gravis also joined The Academy of Real Assets in 2024 to empower the next generation. The Academy of Real Assets is a charitable organisation dedicated to enhancing access and awareness of the real assets industry among youth organisations and disadvantaged school pupils. This type of outreach complements other initiatives Gravis is proud to promote, such as the Young Women Into Finance and 10,000 Black Interns.

It's been a bumper year of charitable activity and we have lots planned already for 2025!
